Lots to update people on for where things have been set-up.
Adventures on Brad
I’ve commissioned the production of the second audibook so expect it to be available by the middle of November. Sales have been slowish on Book 1 but sufficient that I think we’ll eventually make the money I spent on it back, so I figure we’ll get Book 2 started now. Hopefully that’ll goose sales on Book 1 too.
I completed the first draft of Book 3 and need to set it aside to review and edit at a later date. There are structural issues that I think need to be dealt with on the next trilogy, but I’ll leave that for another post. Book 3 is the ‘close’ of the series. While I likely will write more, it’ll be at a slower pace as I tackle another series.
The System Apocalypse
I put the first few words down on the System Apocalypse down recently. Brain’s been a bit fried from the flu so writing has been slow in the last week, but hopefully I’ll have it all written within the next month or two. I don’t know when it’ll be done – my ‘real’ job gets incredibly busy during this period so I’m not sure I’ll have the time / energy to do much writing.
I received the edited version of Book 2 back. There are a number of things that I desperately need to fix but see flu. I’m hoping to tackle it properly soon but we are ahead of our scheduled release timeline of Nov 1. So I can take it a bit easy 🙂
Lastly, Audiobooks. I am booked with a very, very good narrator in the middle of January for Book 1. Sorry it takes so long, there’s the earliest they have available. Good news is that Book 2 and Book 3 are also booked shortly after, so all 3 books will come out in short-order after that.
Short Stories
Well, there seems to be more interest in the System Apocalypse short stories, so at some point I’ll tackle a story for Lana. I know roughly when it’ll be set (in-between Book 1 and Book 2 with some time into Book 2) so it’ll just be a matter of sitting down and writing it.
Other Series
I have ideas for about 2 other series in the LitRPG genre that is bouncing around my head. The first has had some work done it, though it’s closer to Ready Player One style LitRPG (i.e. almost 0 stats) than crunchy stats. It’s in a genre/area I haven’t seen written yet which is kinda fun.
The second idea is more my take on the Kingdom Builder type LitRPG. That one is… tough. Because it’s so important to get the system / software right, I haven’t really had time to do any real work on it. I’m tempted to drop the idea entirely since I just don’t have the time to do the stats / calculations / etc.
Don’t worry, none of that is going to be written until I finish editing Book 2 and finish Book 3 of the System Apocalypse.
Sooo any idea if we will get the book earlier than November? 🙂
Btw to find your blog (again) is really hard, one might think “life in the north” would be enough, but no, but even “life in the north an apocalyptic litrpg” gets nothing but amazon and some direct or third party links to rrl ( lol).
Only with your name additionally in the search string does it appear, but even then it’s hidden on spot 7 and if I didn’t know it already(remembered) it’d be easy to overlook.
Yeah, there’s no links to this really right now so the blog itself is kind of hidden. In time it’ll get more populous but I could try making the blog more popular or just write more books. I vote more books. 🙂
PS: If you didn’t see the update, it’s out on Tuesday.
